Off-Site Catered Buffets

Every event is different. We have created a menu with what we consider our most popular dishes — from Maxie’s, Blue’s Egg, and Story Hill BKC — which can be served at the restaurants, or at venues across Southeastern Wisconsin. Our chefs are all extremely talented so if there is a dish you are absolutely dying to have on your day please do not hesitate to ask us!

Black Shoe Hospitality’s own full-service catering team will set up your space; serve plated, family-style, or buffet dinners; and clear all plates and glasses from the tables before our departure.

If you want a more unique or upscale experience, such as a carving station or smoker on site — we can do it! We just have to check that the venue will allow us to bring equipment and can discuss pricing for the request.

Agreements & Payment

We do not require deposits ahead of time and do not require a minimum spend. We do, however, require an agreement to be signed to secure your date where we ask to keep a credit card on file. There are no charges applied to the credit card unless if the event is cancelled more than 6 months in advance of the event. If an event is cancelled within 6 months, we will charge 50 percent of the estimated food cost.

A final menu is due one month prior to the event and the final count is due two weeks prior to the event. We are all human and do know that last-minute changes happen, which we can accommodate under certain circumstances.

Additional Charges

We charge a 20 percent Labor Fee to all events. Our staff is paid hourly and the labor fee is to cover labor, additional travel times to venue, set up, etc. Gratuity is left to the discretion of the client. Standard sales tax is added to all events.

We can assist in renting china, silverware, glasses, and napkins. We can also help with ordering chairs, tables, and linen packages.

“Room Flip” & Setting the Reception Space does have an additional fee of $1 per person. This is to cover any additional labor costs to guarantee the flip and set is done in time for the reception. We can also tear down for $1 per person. Set up would include linen being put on tables, silverware, water glasses, napkins. Water fees are applied for $1 per person, which includes full water carafes at each table with a full glass set at each place prior to guests being seated. Our team will make sure that the water is replenished throughout dinner. To forgo a water fee we can supply the water carafes at each table, but would not pour throughout dinner service.

Cake Cutting fees are applied for $1.00 per person, and includes cutting, serving, and cleaning up the space. Coffee Service is $1.50 per person and we can supply disposable cups, regular and decaf coffee, cream, sugar, and stir sticks, along with two 60-cup urns to ensure coffee stays hot throughout the evening. We can leave these at the venue and pick up the following day to ensure coffee is there all night (with approval from venue). We can order saucers and coffee cups with our china rental if you prefer porcelain versus disposable. Delivery fees apply to any venue further than 15 miles from our Maxie’s restaurant.
